2017-2018 U.S. High School Track and Field National Records: Alyssa Wilson Demolishes Girls Shot Put Standard.

Alyssa Wilson first spun and tossed her way into history last winter with a girls indoor shot put national record-setting toss of 57’-5 ½. Later in May, the senior from Toms River, New Jersey’s Donovan Catholic, shattered the previous girls outdoor record–(set in 2014 by Raven Saunders, Burke H.S., Charleston, S.C.)–by nearly a foot-and-a-half with a monstrous 57’-1 ¼” heave.
Wilson is currently a freshman on the UCLA Bruins track and field team where she is poised to become one of the world’s all-time-great women throwers.
