My educational experience and life goals
To begin, I want give thanks for the coach that is reading this letter I put together for you. I’m going to briefly explain to you my education experiences, and how football changed my life as a student athlete. I also want to describe my student involvement during my four years of attending Lynwood High School. My goals aren’t very extravagant, but it is something that I am going to love to do as a professional.
My first year attending Lynwood high school I was a bit nervous. I state that because in middle school that was on everyone’s mind as school was ending and summer was approaching. I was a thinker and I thought if I played a sport and participated in activites I would get a pass with school. In this case I was very wrong. My grades were presentable but they weren’t where I wanted them to be. I played varsity all four years of my high school career. In this time my ego grew and went through class barely making it , so I can play a sport I love. My sophomore year I took huge turn in academics because my coach explained to me first your a student and then you are athlete and that stuck with me. It changed my life and also my mom was a huge motivation for me when she was in the hospital fighting for her life. My sophomore year I pulled through with the best grade point I have ever achieved. I had a grade point average that was a 3.7 that weighed out to a 4.0 and this was a tremendous accomplishment for me. My Junior year I received a 3.0 and this led me into my senior year very strong and also end with a Big Bang.
I described how football changed me academically but also how it helped me mold into a man. Being an athlete will test you with attitudes, your posture, your will and more importantly your heart. It tests your attitude because you can either back down from competition or face it head on. That teaches you how to face challenges when they appear in your life. Your posture is how you stand when your back is against the wall. Are you gonna fight through it or bow down when you get knocked down? Your will is basically your consistency when you stick with something and how long you stick to it. You only make your own habits when you keep doing the same thing. Your heart and desire makes who you are and it lights that fire inside of you to keep going no matter the consequence. That separates a man from a kid and that’s what football offered me in return. With all that being said, I ask that you take a chance on me and help me achieve my dream as a student and athlete. Just take the time to give me a shot. I am very productive and will put in the work to continue to grow as a individual. I will do my best to help your program and give my all if you give me a shot. I am versatile and can multiple positions which are : Outside LineBacker, Strong Safety, Running Back.
